The Kayaking Adventure 05-16-09

When I met David in January 2007, he owned a 12 1/2 foot kayak. He had mentioned he and I going kayaking several times, but we never went for one reason or another. The second week of May this year, he asked me if I wanted to go kayaking that weekend. Of course, never wanting to sound like a weenie, I told him "sure". Well, it just so happened that this time he showed up on Friday night with the kayaks in tow and so I knew it was really going to happen. Then my nerves kicked in to overdrive. I just knew I was going to make a fool of myself or flip over and not be able to come back up. I was scared to death! (I just didn't show it.) On Saturday morning, David, Hyls and I went to Lake Athens Marina and unloaded the kayaks. First, David had Hyls and I sit in them on the land to get the feel of them. Then off we go into the water. Much to my surprise, it was very easy and really relaxing. I had a great time and I am looking forward to going again.

Following are some pics of the great adventure (BEFORE we were actually afloat).
